Conservationists aim to emulate a New York statute to put a halt to what they perceive as exaggerated cryptocurrency energy consumption. This would compel Bitcoin miners to embrace alternative methodologies such as “proof of stake.” Conversely, miners in regions like Texas argue that control measures will not conserve energy in the long run, asserting that the advantages of virtual assets will surpass the disadvantages.
According to Liz Moran from the ecological advocacy organization Earth Justice, cryptocurrency mining and governmental monitoring of energy usage can coexist harmoniously. On the other hand, Jason Les, the CEO of Riot Blockchain, maintains that recent economic disruptions have made the utility of Bitcoin even more crucial than before.
